asked the Minister for the Environment if he will indicate for each local authority, the following information, (1) the total number of applicants on the housing waiting list for local authority housing, in each area; (2) the total number of transfer applicants in each area; and (3) the percentage families on both lists that have (a) more than eight persons in the family; (b) more than six persons in the family; (c) more than four persons in the family; and (d) more than two persons in the family.

Following is the information requested:—

There is no information available in my Department in respect of transfer applicants.

1. The figures in the table are the latest figures available to my Department and relate to approved applications which local authorities had on waiting lists at 30 September, 1977. Separate figures for families comprising more than eight persons are not available.

2. The required information was not submitted to my Department in respect of the housing authorities marked with an asterisk (*).

3. The figures for Dublin Corporation and Birr Urban District Council relate to the position at the 1 May, 1978, and 31 December, 1977, respectively.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will indicate for each local authority the total number of applications that have been made within the 12 months ending 31 August 1978 for (a) SDA loans; and (b) low rise mortgage loans.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will indicate, for each local authority for the year ending 31 August 1978 the number of (a) SDA loan applications that have been approved; and (b) LRMS applications that have been approved.

The most recent figures available for house purchase loans are in respect of the year ended 30 June 1978. Figures in respect of the low rise mortgage scheme are for the period requested by the Deputy.

Note 1:

The Number of sites shown for Dublin Corporation includes sites for which compulsory purchase orders have been confirmed. Some of these may not as yet have been taken into actual possession by the corporation. Details of these are not readily available in my Department.

Information on the value in current market terms of these sites is not available in my Department. Because of the varying topographical features of sites and of the wide variations in possible layout and designs of housing schemes, it is not possible to indicate the average development costs of such sites.
