asked the Minister for Health the reduction, if any, in the number of those qualified to receive free health treatment over the past six months; and the number of persons qualifying since October 1977 and the first week of October 1978.

I presume that the question refers to full eligibility for health services. The latest date for which figures are available in relation to persons with full eligibility is 30 June 1978. For the six months which ended on that date there was an increase of 4,813 in the number of persons with full eligibility.
Between 1 October 1977 and 30 June 1978 the number of persons with full eligibility increased by 11,176. The number of persons who qualified for full eligibility in this period might be larger than this when allowance is made for persons who lost eligibility during the period.
