It is hoped to carry out a survey of the site agreed on between my engineer and the local fishermen within the next three months. On the basis of this survey the proposed pier will be designed and an estimate of the cost prepared. The proposals should be finalised by the end of March 1979. However, the final decision as to what works, if any, shall be undertaken will rest with the Department of Fisheries and Forestry.
