That part of the Mourne herring fishery coming under Irish jurisdiction has been closed on scientific advice for the whole of this year. There is no record in my Department of an inquiry having been received from the IFO as to the position in the remainder of this fishery other than one made by them on 19 September last. The Northern Ireland authorities introduced a closure there as from midnight on that day.
