I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that they have no plans at present to build advance factories in any of the six towns referred to by the Deputy. The authority have already provided advance factories at Swinford, Ballaghaderreen and Claremorris for which industrial projects have been secured. Moreover the authority are currently negotiating with the Mayo County Council for the purchase of suitable sites for industry at Foxford and Charlestown.

asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy if the IDA have any plans for an industry to be located in the vacant factory at Ardnaree, Ballina, County Mayo.
I am informed by the Industrial Development Authority that they are actively promoting their vacant factory at Ballina for a suitable industry.
While interest continues to be shown by industrialists in these premises, at present, there are no proposals in relation to them before the authority.
