asked the Minister for Education, if in reply to Questions Nos. 18 and 19 of 20 June, 1978, he will state the number of fulltime and part-time civil servants of his Department engaged in "an objective evaluation of the pilot programmes which were undertaken for the purpose of the project", the cost of such evaluation; the date of conclusion of the evaluation; and if the subsequent evaluation report will be published.

The general evaluation work, of which the pilot programmes form one subject, is led by a team of eight professional officers of my Department who are whole-time civil servants but they have, of course, available to them the services of all the Department's officers so far as they may be relevant in the case in question. It would not, accordingly, be possible to furnish a figure of cost for such evaluations. The work will be concluded as expeditiously as possible and any question of publication can be considered only on completion of the evaluation work.
