asked the Minister for the Environment why the increase in the pensions of former non-officer employees of Dun Laoghaire Corporation, due to be paid from July last, has not yet been paid; and the reasons for the delay.
Written Answers. - Local Authority Pensions.

Local authorities were authorised by circular letter issued from my Department on 21 June 1978 to pay pension increases to former employees with effect from 1 July 1978. The calculation and payment of the pension increases in each case is a matter for the local authority concerned, subject to the right of any pensioner to appeal to me if he is aggrieved by the refusal or failure of a local authority to grant an increase or by the amount of an increase granted. From inquiries made by my Department, I understand that the pension increases payable by Dun Laoghaire Corporation will be paid, with arrears due, during the current month.
