Vol. 309 No. 5

Written Answers. - Wood Quay (Dublin) Excavations.

404.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will give a specific date for the termination of excavation work at Wood Quay, Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Excavation of the national monument on the Wood Quay site requires the joint written consent of the Commissioners of Public Works and Dublin Corporation. Pending a decision on the future of the site they have given such a consent to allow the National Museum to continue the excavation of the monument up to 9 December 1978. Any excavation after that date would require a further joint consent.

A decision on the future of the site has not yet been made.
