Vol. 309 No. 5

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Entitlement.

422.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state, in relation to a person (details supplied), whether he is entitled to either (a) arrears of unemployment benefit, or (b) disability pension, on the basis of his insurance record; if so, when arrears will be paid; and whether any action is being contemplated or taken against an employer (details supplied) for failure to stamp this person's card despite making deductions from his wages.

Inquiries are still being carried out on the non-compliance aspect of this case and also into the circumstances of the occupational accident on which the claim for disablement benefit is based.

It is hoped to have these inquiries completed at an early date. Pending their completion it is not possible to say if entitlement to unemployment benefit or disablement benefit will arise or what action, if any, will be taken against the employer in the case.

The person concerned is at present in receipt of unemployment assistance.
