Written Answers. - Waterford Roads.

445.

asked the Minister for the Environment the moneys allocated to Waterford County Council in 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978, in respect of (a) national primary roads, and (b) other roads, specifying the category in each case; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

*This grant supplements the provision made from the local authority's own funds for the improvement, maintenance and management of main roads (other than National Roads), for improvement works on county roads and for Traffic Management works (including works on National Roads).

I am satisfied that the grants which I have allocated to Waterford County Council since taking office are generous in comparison to the level of grants for previous years and also represent a fair share of the total resources available.
