Vol. 309 No. 5

Written Answers. - Kerry Roads.

471.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that at a recent meeting of the Kerry County Council the county engineer stated that some of the roads in the county are caving in arising from the abnormal volume of heavy traffic carried by these roads and that the situation is now being aggravated by the transfer of beet haulage in Kerry from rail to road; and in view of this, if he will make a special grant to the local authority to remedy this most serious problem.

I have not been advised of any such statement.

I am aware of the road problems of the county and due account will be taken of these when road grant allocations for 1979 are being determined.
