asked the Minister for Education if he will state, in respect of each college of education offering a Bachelor of Education degree course, the number of hours spent studying Irish in each week: (a) by students who are taking Irish as a degree subject; and (b) by students who are not taking Irish as a degree subject.

It is not possible to give particulars of hours of study. The attached tabular statement, however, gives information in regard to formal instruction in Irish.

Following is the statement:
