asked the Minister for the Public Service the total number of administrative and clerical personnel in his Department, setting out the various categories of office, the number in each grade and the salary applicable to each post.

The information sought by the Deputy is set out in a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

(i) Includes 2 principals and 1 executive officer on loan to other Departments; 4 administrative officers on special leave without pay; 1 executive officer attending school of public administration; and 25 higher executive officers and 9 clerical officers on loan from other Departments.

(ii) 5 administrative officers are in receipt of allowance for performing assistant principal duties.

(iii) Minimum and maximum of salary scales are shown except for secretary and deputy secretary who have a flat rate.
