Vol. 309 No. 8

Written Answers. - Vesting of County Galway Tenants.

411.

asked the Minister for Agriculture why the Land Commission have not completed vesting to the tenants of the redistributed McHale estate, Kilursa, Headford, in the barony of Clare, County Galway; and if the Land Commission will take into account the necessity for so doing, to enable 15 tenants to have their estates legalised in Ballyhale, Headford, County Galway.

Vesting of holdings following rearrangement is normally a tedious and complex operation. In this particular case, which involves 487 separate plots, the refusal of one of the tenants to cooperate delayed completion of the rearrangement for a number of years. The extensive ground survey necessary for the implementation of the rearrangement scheme is now being completed, after which the vestings will be effected as quickly as possible.
