Vol. 309 No. 8

Written Answers. - Millstreet (County Cork) National School.

446.

asked the Minister for Education if he has received the inspector's report on Cloghaula national school, Millstreet, County Cork; and, having examined it, if he will now reconsider the proposed amalgamation.

In the light of the report received from the school inspector, my Department will not press for the interim amalgamation of Cloghaula national school with the Millstreet Schools.

I must add, however, that agreement to the amalgamation of Cloghaula national school with the two schools in Millstreet, in converted and improved former post-primary school buildings, was obtained in 1974.

My Department could not agree to the retention of Cloghaula national school beyond the date of completion of the accommodation in Millstreet.
