Vol. 310 No. 1
asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy the number of firms operating on the Shannon Industrial Estate which have closed down completely since the estate was set up.
348.
asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy the amount of aid in the form of grants, and so on, given to each of the firms on the Shannon Industrial Estate which have closed down completely since the estate was set up.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 347 and 348 together.
I am informed by the Shannon Free Airport Development Company that 37 manufacturing firms, based in the Shannon Industrial Estate, have failed since the estate was established in 1960. Of this number only 16 firms received grant assistance from SFADCo. The following is a list of these firms and of the net amount of grants paid to each of them, that is, total grant paid less amount recovered from firm after close down.
