Vol. 310 No. 9

Written Answers. - Film Censor Post.

166.

asked the Minister for Justice if the post of film censor is a full-time post or if the occupant of the post is allowed to engage in other work; and, if the post is not full time, the number of hours per week served.

The relevant condition in the conditions of service appertaining to the position provides that the official censor of films may not engage in or be connected with any outside business or activity which would in any way conflict with the interests of, or be inconsistent with, his official position or which would tend to impair his usefulness in that position.

He is required to attend to his duties to such extent as may be necessary to ensure that there is no unreasonable delay in the censoring of films. Normally attendance will be within the period 9.15 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. on all weekdays save Friday and within the period 9.15 a.m. to 5.15 p.m. on Fridays.
