asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will issue a stamp to commemorate the work of Michael Davitt.
(Dublin South-Central): With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 21 and 22 together.
Michael Davitt, Charles Stewart Parnell and the Land League were commemorated in 1946 by the issue of a postage stamp. In connection with the 1981 stamp programme I intend to issue a stamp commemorating the centenary of the Land Law (Ireland) Act of 1881, the Land League's first major achievement in the legislative field and the forerunner of the land reform legislation.
