asked the Minister for Agriculture, in relation to An Foras Talúntais (1) the amount, percentage of its total budget represented by, and conditions regarding the expenditure of, moneys received by it from non-Exchequer sources, and (2) the extent to which he is answerable to the Oireachtas for its activities.

(1) The accounts of An Foras Talúntais for the year ended 31 December 1977 show the following in come received in that year from sources other than the Exchequer:

The figures in brackets are the percentages of total income which each item represents.

The item "Fees and Donations" includes contributions from many sources towards the cost of agreed research projects.

(2) The Agriculture (An Foras Talúntais) Act, 1958, requires the Minister to present the audited annual accounts and the annual report of An Foras Talúntais to both Houses of the Oireachtas.
