Vol. 312 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laytown (Meath) School.

13.

andMr. Horgan asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that several classes in Scoil Spioraid Naomh, Laytown, County Meath, are required to share a single classroom in spite of the fact that there are empty classrooms in the school building; and if he will take steps to ensure that each class has its own room and teacher.

The number of teachers in these schools is in accordance with the number of pupils enrolled at present. The possible number of class groups is limited to the number of teachers and, as the Deputies are no doubt aware, grouping of standards, each one following its own programme, is the normal organisation in schools of this size.
