asked the Minister for Education when he intends to appoint the 20 youth officers promised; and if he will appoint a certain number of these in Waterford city and county.
In an address to the National Youth Council of Ireland's annual assembly in October 1978 the Minister of State at my Department stated that I accepted the need for the appointment of a number of additional full-time youth workers to be appointed in 1979.
I am at present examining the best methods for the deployment of these additional workers and I will be making a statement on the matter as soon as it is possible for me to do so.
