Vol. 312 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fish Disease.

22.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the preventive measures, if any, which have been recommended by his Department against red tide and brown tide, after their investigation of the recent problem on the south-west coast.

Red and brown tides are both manifestations of a single natural phenomenon which cannot be guarded against. There are no preventive measures; only protective measures may be taken in the event of an outbreak.
