asked the Minister for the Environment the present position in relation to the provision of a sewerage/purification plant in Castlebar, County Mayo.

I understand that the local authority are reconsidering the tenders obtained for the construction of the treatment works and sewer laying contracts of this scheme.

There is a large number of group schemes in planning and in construction in County Mayo. The information requested by the Deputy is being compiled and will be forwarded to him.
