andMr. Mannion asked the Minister for the Environment the proposals, if any, he has for water and sewerage schemes in County Galway in 1979.

I assume that the Deputies are referring to water and sewerage schemes for which the County Galway local authorities have proposals before my Department at present. With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report a statement listing the schemes and indicating the present position in each case.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application from Ballinasloe UDC for grants for water and sewarage schemes; and if so, the position regarding these applications.

I assume that the Deputy is referring to the provision of finance for Ballinasloe water and sewerage schemes.

The preliminary report for the augmentation of Ballinasloe water supply scheme is at present under examination in my Department. I hope to convey a decision thereon to the local authority in the near future. The question of finance for this scheme will not arise until it has been fully planned and approved.

My Department have advised the local authority that there is no objection to revising the contract documents for Ballinasloe sewerage scheme and to readvertising the scheme for tender. A loan of £97,000 for the financing of the scheme was sanctioned in July 1977.

32.

asked the Minister for the Environment if the contract has been sanctioned for the Dunfanaghy-Creeslough, Co. Donegal water scheme; and the position regarding the £50,600 allocated from the EEC for this scheme.

I approved the contract documents for this scheme in July 1978. Advertising the scheme for tender is a matter for the local authority.

When work has commenced on the construction of the scheme and substantial expenditure has been incurred thereon, the local authority may submit a claim for payment of an instalment of the FEOGA aid of £50,600 which the EEC Commission allocated to the scheme from the 1977 FEOGA budget.
