Ceisteanna—Questions. - Bridge Orders.

asked the Minister for the Environment the number of bridge orders which have been requested of his Department in the last 18 months; the details of those requests; the order in which they have been received; and the number, if any, which have been granted.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

Following is the statement:

(a) Number of requests received in past 18 months for bridge orders

One.

(b) Details of requests received

Application received on 23 June 1978 from Galway Corporation in respect of a proposed bridge over the river Corrib linking Terryland and Newcastle. Preliminary report on the scheme is awaited from Galway Corporation.

(c) Order in which requests were received

Not applicable.

(d) Number of the foregoing which have been granted

*Nil.

*Note: Resulting from a request of 27 September 1976 from Wexford County Council, a bridge order in respect of a new bridge at Ferrycarrig, County Wexford was made on 15 January 1979.
