The position obtaining in Sligo Regional Technical College and certain other such colleges arises from the operation of a work to rule campaign, in support of a claim regarding pay and conditions of service, by technical staff who are members of the Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers.
At the request of my Department, a full hearing of the claim by the Labour Court has been arranged for Wednesday 14 March 1979.
