An official census of industrial enterprises on a national or county basis is not undertaken by my Department or by any of the industrial promotion bodies under my aegis.
The Industrial Development Authority carry out annual manufacturing employment surveys for the purposes of planning and determining their regional industrial strategy. If the Deputy will repeat the question in two weeks' time I will be in a position to give the names and addresses of the undertakings surveyed in County Clare during the most recent of these surveys. However, I will not be in a position to state the number of employees in each firm as this information is confidential.
