asked the Minister for Education the allocation made to each Vocational Education Committee for the current year; the amount requested by each committee as their estimate for the year in question; the percentage increase or decrease in each case; and how vocational education committees will be able to maintain or improve services on the basis of the allocation.
Written Answers. - VEC Allocations.
The figures requested are shown on the following basis. The allocation already made by my Department to each vocational education committee is not the full allocation for the current year: and additional allocation has still to be made to cover the cost of additional teaching staff to be employed from the commencement of the coming school year.
The funds already allocated together with the additional allocations still remaining to be made should ensure that sufficient funds will be available to maintain and improve the services provided by the vocational education committees.
