Vol. 313 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Wicklow Coast Erosion.

276.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the damage and erosion resulting from the winter storms to the coast from Wicklow town north towards Kilcoole, County Wicklow and if he will, as a matter of urgency, grant funds to Wicklow Urban District Council and Wicklow County Council in addition to the funds already allocated to repair this stretch of coastline on which the main railway line is situated.

There are no funds available to me from which grants could be made for coast protection purposes. The question of any remedial action is a matter for the Wicklow County Council and the Office of Public Works.
