Claims for increases of 4.5 per cent with effect form 1 July 1978 and 3.3 per cent with effect from 1 January 1979, on salaries and allowances payable to teachers on the common basic scale were the subject of a recent arbitration hearing. The report of this hearing has not yet been issued.
Explanatory Note on Points Ratings
Points ratings of schools are determined at present on the basis of points weightings of pupils as follows:
