Vol. 314 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Road Maintenance.

13.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the complaints of residents in Abbey Road, Monkstown, County Dublin, regarding the non-maintenance of this road; and if he will indicate where responsibility lies for the upkeep of this road.

I have had no representations regarding the condition of this road.

The Dublin County Council/Dún Laoghaire Corporation boundary runs along this road and accordingly each authority is statutorily responsible for the maintenance of that section of the road in its administrative area. I am informed, however, that Dún Laoghaire Corporation under an informal agreement with the county council undertake the maintenance of the complete road on a reciprocal basis.
