Vol. 314 No. 10

Written Answers. - Wilson Estate (Dublin) Health Hazard

244.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware of the health hazard caused by (a) rat infestation of a stream and (b) dumping at a nearby field, at Wilson Housing Estate in North County Dublin; if so, his proposals, if any, to remedy the situation.

The prevention of rat infestation at the Wilson Housing Estate, Coolock, County Dublin is a matter for the Eastern Health Board. I understand that the stream referred to is treated periodically for rat infestation and that the most recent treatment commenced on 15 May 1979. Dublin County Council have informed me that as a result of steps taken by them the materials dumped in a field near the housing estate have been removed.
