Vol. 314 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Agricultural Structural Projects.

46.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the maximum amount Ireland could have drawn from the FEOGA Fund for structural projects in agriculture and the amount which was actually drawn in 1978.

I assume that the Deputy is referring to the FEOGA Scheme of grants for projects for the marketing and processing of agricultural products. Grants totalling £4,138,700 were approved for 25 Irish projects in 1978. None of the Irish projects approved for grant-aid in 1978 has yet reached the stage of development where grants have been paid.

Is there in respect of this fund an overall national allocation at the beginning of each year? Or are applications dealt with on an individual basis, not on a national basis?

I think cases are dealt with individually——

No national quota?

——on a Community basis; no, I do not think there is.
