Vol. 315 No. 1

Written Answers. - Road Services Supervisory Grades.

109.

asked the Minister for the Environment if proposals have been submitted on behalf of the Meath and Westmeath County Councils affecting supervisory grades in the road services; the date on which the proposals were received; the nature of the proposals and his decision thereon.

There are no formal proposals before my Department in respect of supervisory grades in the road sections of Meath or Westmeath County Councils.

In a letter from Meath Council received in my Department on 1 May 1979, the local authority referred to a possible revision of the rate of pay of supervisory overseers. The matter will be further examined on receipt of additional information which the council has been asked to furnish.

110.

asked the Minister for the Environment the county councils that have submitted proposals for pay adjustments for supervisory grades in (a) road services and, (b) other services, and are awaiting sanction.

Having regard to the range of different services provided by county councils, the numbers of supervisory grades working within individual services and the variety of proposals from county councils which are before the Department at any time and which could be regarded as coming within the scope of "proposals for pay adjustments", the full information required for the Deputy could not be readily compiled. However, in regard to the main supervisory grades in road services, the question of pay adjustments in the following instances is being examined in the Department.
