asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs when the installation of new telephones will commence in the Tullamore and Portlaoise areas in view of the number of applications outstanding.

Installation of new telephones will commence on a general basis in both areas following the extension towards the end of this year of the trunk exchange at Portlaoise on which subscribers in these areas are dependent for the switching of trunk calls.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the present situation with regard to the application for telephone service of a person (name supplied) in Dublin and if it is possible to expedite this application in view of the health and other circumstances of the applicant.

Arrangements to provide service within the next few months are already in train.
