An application from a public utility society on behalf of the person named for a grant under the old scheme of new house grants was rejected on 1 June 1978 as his income was in excess of the maximum allowable for grant purposes. As it subsequently appeared that work was started in September 1977 an application form for the £1,000 grant was sent to the person through the public utility society. No completed application has been received to date. However, an inspection is being arranged with a view to ascertaining if he is eligible for the £1,000 grant.
