Vol. 315 No. 12

Written Answers. - Irish Fishery Rights Case.

160.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the reasons the Irish Government have not joined the Commission to date in the case brought against Britain in the European Court regarding the infringement of traditional Irish fishery rights in the Isle of Man; whether he is aware that other EEC states have supported the Commission and if he will outline the Government's policy with particular regard to any future plans to join the Commission in this issue.

It is the Government's intention to join in the case in question. I am aware that other member states have done so already.
