asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy the plans for provision of a male-employing industry in Castlebar, County Mayo.
The Industrial Development Authority, in its recently published Industrial Plan, 1978-82, recognises the need for the encouragement of male employing industry to locate in Castlebar. In promoting Castlebar the authority will give preference to engineering type industries. In order to facilitate this, a cluster of small advance factory units totalling 15,000 sq. ft. has already been provided by the IDA at Castlebar. Two of these units have now been allocated to engineering projects that have a combined potential of 27 jobs, virtually all of which will be for men.
