Vol. 315 No. 17

Order of Business.

It is proposed to take No. 4 (resumed).

(Cavan-Monaghan): What is the position regarding the Local Government (Toll Roads) Bill, 1978 which is at Report Stage? Some time ago it was regarded as an urgent matter and there is about half an hour left in it but it has not been taken for some months now.

The Deputy will be aware from what I have just announced that it is not proposed to complete it to-day.

(Cavan-Monaghan): I can understand that, but how did it move suddenly from the urgent business into what I might describe as merely the never-never category?

The Deputy will also be aware that it has not been listed among the urgent business which has to be completed.

(Cavan-Monaghan): I appreciate that but I ask the Tánaiste why?

The Deputy had better address that inquiry to the Minister for the Environment.
