asked the Minister for the Environment the revised rate of pay for county council road workers in each county grouped in health board areas at the expiry of the 1978 National Agreement, the pay adjustments notified to his Department under the 1979 agreement and the operative dates.

The pay of road labourers is a flat weekly rate and, except for the one incremental scale indicated above, i.e. Dublin County Council, does not have a maximum or a minimum.

Note (a): Negotiations on payment of the productivity-based increase of £1.50 per week with effect from 1 October, 1978, have not yet been concluded in these local authorities. In all other cases the £1.50 per week productivity payment from 1 October, 1978 is included.

Note (b): The figures for Dublin County Council include a special pay increase of £7.60 per week granted prior to commencement of present Pay Agreement. Discussions on a claim for a special pay increase for local authority workers outside the Dublin local authorities are in progress at present.
