On 19 October 1979 I announced that the Industrial Development Authority intend to construct a 7,000 sq. ft. advance factory in Newmarket, as part of their fourth advance factory programme. Construction is expected to commence early in the coming year.
This development will accelerate the industrialisation of the Duhallow area, including Millstreet. In the circumstances it is not considered that the building of an IDA advance factory in Millstreet is warranted at this stage.
