Vol. 316 No. 7

Written Answers. - Polish Coal Prices.

345.

asked the Minister for Industry, Commerce and Energy if a reduction in the price of coal is envisaged as a result of his recent visit to Poland with a view to purchasing Polish coal, and if he will make a statement on the outcome of his Polish talks.

The discussions which I had with Polish Ministers covered a number of trade questions of mutual interest. The general prospects on coal supplies were discussed but no new commitments were entered into either in regard to supplies or prices. Specific arrangements in relation to these matters are primarily for settlement between the Polish coal authorities and the Irish coal traders.
