Vol. 316 No. 8

Written Answers. - Army Induction Regulations.

413.

asked the Minister for Defence the proposals, if any, to terminate or amend the regulations governing the minimum physical requirements for induction into the Army.

There are no proposals to terminate the regulations which prescribe the physical standards required for entry to the Defence Forces.

The only amendment contemplated envisages certain minor modifications to cater for the entry of women to the forces. The modified standards will apply only to women.
