Vol. 316 No. 12

Suspension of Member.

I move:

That Deputy Blaney be suspended from the service of the Dáil.

The motion is that Deputy Blaney be suspended from the service of the House. Agreed?

Question put and declared carried.

Deputy Blaney will now please leave the House. The motion has been agreed.

I want to say to you, Sir, that you have done what has not been done in 31 years in this House, and that is to name me for something of which I am not guilty. I am entitled to speak on the Order of Business and you disallowed it, which is a different matter from the one I had raised before that.

Deputy Blaney has been suspended from the services of the House. If he does not wish to leave the House the Chair will have to take other action on that.

Well, the Chair can take other action because I am fed up with your partisan operations in that Chair.

Will Deputy Blaney please leave the House——

I am not leaving the House.

—— and obey the Chair?

I am not leaving the House. I wish I could obey the rules of the House because the Chair is not applying the rules of the House.

The sitting is suspended until 4.30 p.m.

Go and read the rules in the meantime and try to find out if I am entitled to raise matters on the Order of Business. I am entitled to express my opinion in this House which is not expressed by others who were allowed to speak.

Business suspended at 4.15 p.m. and resumed at 4.30 p.m.
