Vol. 317 No. 1

Written Answers. - Right Hand Side Driving.

6.

asked the Minister for the Environment the estimated cost of a change to driving on the right hand side of the road; the principal components in any such costing, the cost of each such component; and the plans, if any, to effect such a change.

7.

asked the Minister for the Environment if it is intended to change to driving on the right hand side of the road; the estimated cost of making such a change and if he will make a statement on the matter.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 6 and 7 together.

There are no plans to effect such a changeover, and so estimates of cost have not been calculated in respect of any such changeover. However, it seems clear that the cost would be substantial.
