Vol. 317 No. 9

Written Answers. - Owenmore River Drainage.

159.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will allocate funds for urgent drainage of the Owenmore River in County Sligo, where farmers are suffering severe crop losses due to flooding.

The Owenmore has been reached in the arterial drainage programme; an engineering survey of the catchment has been completed but the survey data has yet to be processed with a view to establishing if a scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, would be feasible. It would be some years yet before a scheme could reach works stage.
