Vol. 317 No. 9

Written Answers. - River Nanny Drainage.

160.

asked the Minister for Finance to outline the plans, if any, for the drainage of the River Nanny at Tuam, County Galway, and if he will make a statement on the matter.

There are no immediate plans for the drainage of the Nanny River, County Galway. The Nanny was scheduled for treatment under the arterial drainage scheme for the Corrib-Clare catchment areas but work on that river had to be postponed because the existing Tuam waterworks would have been damaged by silt. When Galway County Council have completed the installation of the new water supply for Tuam the drainage of the Nanny and its tributaries will be reconsidered.
