Vol. 317 No. 9

Written Answers. - ICA Horticultural College.

299.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he intends, as originally arranged, to meet 50 per cent of the cost of the proposed extension to the Irish Countrywomen's Association's horticultural college at Termonfeckin, County Louth.

300.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will increase the grant to the ICA for their new headquarters to provide for increased costs since the grant was originally approved and to enable the ICA to successfully complete arrangements for the matching grant from the Kellogg foundation.

With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 299 and 300 together.

A State grant of half the cost, as originally estimated, of the proposed extension of the Horticultural College of the Irish Countrywomen's Association was approved early this year. The estimated cost has now increased and the association recently applied for a corresponding increase in the amount of the grant. This application is at present being examined.
