Vol. 317 No. 9

Written Answers. - Lamb Subsidy Scheme.

373.

andMr. Bruton asked the Minister for Agriculture the action he proposes to take on the representations made to him by Comharchumann Uan Chiarraí in regard to the introduction of a lamb subsidy scheme.

Under existing schemes headage subsidy payments are made in respect of various classes of sheep including mountain lambs. As the outcome of negotiations in Brussels for a common agricultural policy for sheep and sheep-meat is awaited it is not proposed to make any change in the present arrangements.
