Vol. 318 No. 5

Written Answers. - Sheep Export Requirements.

338.

asked the Minister for Agriculture the proportion of Irish sheep slaughtering plants which meet export requirements and the proportion of sheep slaughtered each month since 1977 which met the requirements of the French market.

All 34 plants registered by my Department for the slaughter of sheep for export meet the requirements of the EEC fresh meat directive.

The following table shows the proportion of sheep slaughtered each month since January 1978 at registered meat export premises which met the quality criteria laid down by my Department for export to France.
